María Ángeles Martínez Navarro

Profesora Titular de Universidad

In relation to my research activity, the main lines of research developed have been two. The first line was related to Transport Economics, from which several articles were obtained in specialized journals (5) and a considerable number of contributions to international, national, and regional conferences (11). The second line of research is focused on Innovation Economics and Technological Change, which I have been developing in recent years. Within this line, my work has been primarily oriented towards the analysis of the production, quality, and dissemination of technological knowledge generated by European universities.

Simultaneously, my research interest has also focused on the analysis of convergence applied to the production of science and technology, both at the level of EU and Spanish regions and countries. As noteworthy results, publications within this line include 11 scientific articles, 9 of which are indexed in journals of the Journal Citation Report (7 of them are included in the first and second quartiles), and presentations at various international conferences (3). Among the journals in which I have published articles are Research Policy, Journal of Technology Transfer, Scientometrics, Papers of Regional Science, Annals of Regional Science, Applied Economics Letters, Minerva, and Regional Studies. My scientific activity has led to the granting of 2 six-year research periods (the last one granted in 2018).

I have participated as a researcher in Research Projects in competitive calls (1 project from the National R&D Plan and 2 from the Andalusian Regional Government). I have participated as a researcher in several Scientific-Technical Contracts related to the economic impact of the Bay of Cádiz Port (2 OTRI contracts) and two studies on the economic and social impact of the University of Cádiz funded by the UCA Social Council. I belong to the Research Group of the PAIDI SEJ-295 Innovation and Transport Economics of the Andalusian Regional Government.

In university management, I have held various individual positions at the University of Cádiz (Department Director, Coordinator of the Degree in Business Administration and Management, and Department Secretary of General Economics) and have been a member of the Academic Commission and the Quality Assurance Commission of the Doctoral Program in Business Management and Economic Environment at the University of Cádiz. Likewise, I have been a member of collegiate bodies such as the Faculty Board of Economics and Business and the University Council of the University of Cádiz.
