I have been a Full Professor of Applied Economics since 2016, and since May 2013, I have held the Accreditation as Full Professor from ANECA. My research work, carried out in the Department of General Economics at the University of Cádiz, has focused on the economics of innovation and technological change. In parallel, I have also conducted research in transport economics, particularly in port infrastructure. In both fields, I have published in JCR journals, with a total of 24 articles, 10 of them in Q1 journals. Among these journals are Research Policy, Small Business Economics, Food Policy, Journal of Technology Transfer, Scientometrics, or Journal of Transport Geography, among others. Throughout my career, I have authored more than 40 publications and participated in over 60 scientific conferences. These publications have resulted in a total of 3 research periods (1997-2003, 2004-2009, and 2010-2015) (with the fourth one requested), and one period of knowledge transfer (2004-2017). In the field of innovation and technological change economics, external funding has been obtained from Research Projects in competitive calls (3 projects from the National Plan and 2 from the Excellence Program of the Junta de Andalucía). In transport economics, research funding comes from Scientific-Technical Contracts with the Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras and with the Port Authority of the Bay of Cádiz, along with the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Campo de Gibraltar and the University-Enterprise Foundation, totaling 12 OTRI contracts and over €500,000 in funding. This activity has resulted in a knowledge transfer period (2004-2017).

In Research and Development Management, I am currently the Vice-Rector for Continuing Education and University Extension at the International University of Andalusia (UNIA). Previously, I have held positions such as Director of the Department of General Economics for 8 years, Director of the Research Secretariat (Vice-Rectorate for R&D&I) for 4 years, Secretary of the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Cádiz, and Secretary of the Department of General Economics
