University Professor since 2011. My research work, developed in the Department of General Economics at the University of Cádiz, has primarily focused on the field of innovation economics and technological change, specifically on the flows of scientific and technological knowledge and the economic and technological causes and effects of the diffusion of patented technology.

In both fields, I have published in JCR journals, with a total of 20 articles, 12 of which are in Q1 journals. Notable journals include Small Business Economics, Research Policy, Food Policy, Regional Studies, Scientometrics, Journal of Technology Transfer, among others. Throughout my career, I have contributed with over 70 papers presented at scientific conferences, almost all of them international. These publications have resulted in four six-year research periods (1999-2005-2011-2017). Some general quality indicators of my scientific production are as follows. WoS indicators (Researcher ID: L-8959-2014): Total articles in publication list: 18; Articles with citation data: 18; Sum of times cited: 359; Average citations per article: 19.9; H-Index: 12. Scopus indicators (Author ID: 9745084200): Total articles in publication list: 30; Articles with citation data: 29; Sum of times cited: 494; Average citations per article: 16.4; H-Index: 14. Google Scholar: citations: 1338; H-index: 21; i10-index: 28.

Additionally, I have supervised 3 doctoral theses in the past ten years (6 in total), all of which received the highest distinction, with one earning a European mention and an extraordinary doctorate award. Most of the doctoral students I have supervised (5) are now university professors, and one holds a significant position in the Public Administration.

In the field of innovation economics and technological change, external funding has been obtained through competitive research project calls (2 projects from the National Plan and 3 from the Junta de Andalucía), in all of which I served as principal investigator. Additional funding has come from Scientific-Technical Contracts with various port authorities. Other entities with which I have conducted transfer contracts include the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Navigation of the Campo de Gibraltar and the University-Business Foundation. In total, there are thirteen OTRI contracts, all of which I led. Additionally, I have participated in seven others as a research professor. This work has contributed to the award of a six-year transfer period (2019).

Regarding research management, I have held several key positions at the University of Cádiz (Director of the Department of General Economics at the University of Cádiz in several four-year terms) as well as the following: Director of research projects totaling 322,270.83 euros (in addition to managing the ordinary funding for Groups from the Junta de Andalucía amounting to around 3,000 euros annually since 1997); Director of about fifteen research and technology transfer contracts worth approximately five hundred thousand euros. I have coordinated three Doctoral Programs and have been responsible for various courses in the Master’s in Business Administration at the University of Cádiz and in the Doctorate Program in Business Management and Economic Environment.
